〔When You Study Upon a Star〕 is KWAK YOONCHAN’s 11th full-length album, containing a total of 17 tracks. This album presents a new musical approach by merging music and mathematical concepts, providing a special experience that helps improve concentration and creative thinking. KWAK YOONCHAN’s unique jazz sensibility and experimental harmonic structure combine to deeply move listeners.

No Avoid is a song that clearly shows KWAK YOONCHAN’s musical philosophy, and it is a piece that implements pure harmony by thoroughly excluding the concept of “Avoid Note” In most music, the Avoid Note is considered an unharmonious note, but in jazz, it is transformed and used as an acceptable dissonance note. However, this song completely excludes even these notes, thereby achieving pure harmony.
Usually, the Avoid Note changes with each change in chord, but No Avoid thoroughly excludes this, creating a clean and pure musical sound. It provides a sense of peace and stability to the entire song through perfect harmony that goes beyond dissonance or tension, and allows the listener to feel the inherent beauty of music.
Thanks to this, “No Avoid” sounds like a single giant harmony, and provides the listener with a comfortable experience as if floating on a clean lake.
